When enabled, a passkey is created (a secure credential that replaces your password). Authentication happens directly on your device, without relying on third-party services.
How it works (quick overview):
- Your device generates a pair of cryptographic keys
- The private key stays on your device (never shared)
- During login, you confirm using biometrics or a PIN
- No password or biometric data is ever transmitted
How to enable it:
- During login select the checkbox to enable biometrics
- Click “Activate”
- Confirm on your device
Good to know:
- You can always log in with your password and 2FA
- Biometrics is optional and works as an additional method
- You can register and manage multiple devices
Benefits:
- Faster login
- Stronger protection against phishing and credential theft
- No biometric data is shared
- Authentication stays local to your device
